Golden Boy Indoor Soccer Tournament hits the pitch

The Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association kicked off its annual Golden Boy Indoor Soccer Tournament which runs from February 14th to 18th across the city. Tournament games are played at the WSF Soccer South, WSF Soccer North, and the Axworthy Health & RecPlex indoor facilities. According to the tournament's website, this year’s Golden Boy set a new record for the number of participating teams at 180.

The Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association kicked off its annual Golden Boy Indoor Soccer Tournament which runs from February 14th to 18th across the city. Tournament games are played at the WSF Soccer South, WSF Soccer North, and the Axworthy Health & RecPlex indoor facilities. According to the tournament’s website, this year’s Golden Boy set a new record for the number of participating teams at 180.

The tournament is for teams of under 9 to under 18 boys’ and girls’ spread out across 26 divisions and will involve almost 2,400 players. There are 36 out-of-town teams representing Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan for a total of 309 matches over the five-day tournament.

The finals will be held on Monday, February 18th at the WSF Soccer South and WSF Soccer North facilities, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m
