Every city council ward is set to have a contested race in the Oct. 28 municipal election, barring any withdrawals, after additional candidates registered for two contests.
Dennis Bayomi is running in Charleswood-Tuxedo-Westwood, where Evan Duncan is the incumbent candidate.
Bayomi is president and co-deputy leader of the Green Party of Manitoba. He’s run for the Greens in provincial and federal elections.

Prospective candidates for Winnipeg’s upcoming municipal election have until 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 22 to register and file nomination papers.
Fred Morris registered to run against incumbent Cindy Gilroy in Daniel McIntyre.
Prospective candidates have until 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 22 to register and file nomination papers to run for mayor or a councillor seat.
Eleven people have signed up to run for mayor since the registration period began May 1.
Voters will also elect school board trustees when they go to the polls.
