ARIES (March 21-April 19)

It’s tricky because the moon is in your financial house, which might encourage you to negotiate financial matters and discuss shared property, banking details, insurance issues and inheritances. However, there’s a moon alert. Postpone these discussions.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

You have to go more than halfway when dealing with others because the moon is opposite your sign. (In two weeks, people will have to go more than halfway dealing with you, when the moon is in your sign.)

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

You might want to get better organized. (Co-workers will be helpful.) However, there’s a moon alert in effect most of this day, which could create shortages, delays and lower energy. Just cover the basics.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Most of this day is a moon alert, which means you have fantastic opportunities to express your creative talents. Enjoy hobbies, arts and crafts. Enjoy socializing, especially sporting events and fun activities with kids.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

The sun is urging you to get out, shmooz, travel and learn something. Right now however, you might want to kick back and relax at home. Take it easy. It’s a poor day to shop or make important decisions. (Check moon alert above.)

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Indulge your eagerness to talk to others and share your ideas. People will enjoy talking to you because you know a lot — especially trivia. That’s what makes you so interesting. (Especially when you do dialects.)

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

This is a strong time because the sun in your sign is recharging your batteries for the rest of year. Three planets are in your money house, making you think about buying beautiful things. Don’t do it now. Check the moon alert. Just make a list.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Three planets are in your sign, which is a powerhouse. Plus, Mars is high in your chart arousing your ambition. Basically, this is the kind of day where you can go after what you want. But not right now. There’s a moon alert in effect all day. (Just do your homework and fill your databank.)

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

The day is a mixed bag. In one way, you feel sociable because you’re popular right now. People want to talk to you, and your involvement in groups and organizations is stronger than usual. However, another part of you wants to be low-key and keep things quiet. That might be the wise choice.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

You might have a heart-to-heart discussion with a female acquaintance or member of a group. (Keep in mind that you look good to everyone right now because the sun is casting you in a flattering spotlight.) Nevertheless, there’s a moon alert all day. Keep things light.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

People notice you. In fact, some people will know personal details about your private life. That’s just the way it is. Be aware of this in case you have to do some damage control. As there’s a moon alert all day, restrict spending to food and gas.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

Avoid controversial subjects because they will amount to nothing due to the moon alert taking place all day. It will all be just be a lot of hot air. However, you can make progress at work or with any task you set for yourself. Get busy.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY

Singer, songwriter Paul Simon (1941) shares your birthday. You’re focused and direct. You’re also courageous and resourceful. This is a year of service (perhaps to family). Take care of yourself so you can be a resource for those who turn to you for guidance, comfort and courage. It might also be time for a personal makeover.

Financial advice at your fingertips is by no means a new innovation.

Yet with the rise of artificial intelligence, getting insights about your money has been taken to new heights of potential benefit — and dangers.

“There is a lot of upside to using AI, especially for budgeting, and it’s often good as a first draft for anything you want to do,” says Monisha Sharma, Toronto-based chief revenue officer at Fig Financial, which provides consolidation, home improvement and unsecured loans.

Fig has some insight on AI’s benefits. The fintech company leverages AI technology to make loans quickly to Canadians, but its use case is contained to Fig’s own specific data to ensure a low error rate.

‘People count on this place’: Pembina Hwy. Giant Tiger latest location slated to close

By Matthew Frank 3 minute read Yesterday at 4:34 PM CDT

Another Giant Tiger store in Winnipeg will shutter next year, leaving some area residents concerned about a lack of affordable groceries in the neighbourhood.

Red papers taped to the front doors of the Canadian retail chain’s location at Pembina Highway and Southpark Drive indicate it will close Feb. 27.

Doreen Yanchuk, a self-described bargain hunter, shook her head when she saw the signs Monday. The 67-year-old said she’s a regular customer at the location because it’s a five-minute drive from her home.

“They have very good sales here, which draws people to the shop because everything is expensive,” Yanchuk said.

MILWAUKEE - Move your hands atop the worn table in the darkened room and it responds with jumbled sounds: a man and woman talking, knives being sharpened, tires screeching, breathing, music.

Walk on the nine-metre-by-six-metre floor piece and its glowing orange, yellow and red shapes that resemble microscopic organisms form "scars" in response to movements. Stand before what seems to be a large abstract painting on the wall, and projected single and multiple lines are mysteriously drawn where you stand or move.

These are works in the "Act/React: Interactive Installation Art," making its world premiere at the Milwaukee Art Museum through Jan. 11, 2009.

Guest Curator George Fifield said previous interactive pieces asked viewers to use a mouse or keyboard, but this is the first exhibition that just allows viewers to move through the space to help create art.
