MOON ALERT: There are no restrictions to shopping or important decisions. The moon is in Scorpio.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

Tread carefully as it’s easy to get into an argument, especially with your kids or even a romantic partner. Very likely the dispute will be about mutual expenses, shared property or perhaps differing values. Do what you can to keep the peace.

Shogun star Hiroyuki Sanada turns 66 on Monday.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Issues with others might be stressful because the moon is in your sign at odds with fiery Mars, which is sitting in the part of your chart related to home and family. This is the classic indication of needless disputes, irritability, tension and grievances. Yikes! Run away.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

Avoid arguments related to your work, health or even a pet. There might also be disputes related to finances, cash flow or something you own. Instead, focus on playful, fun-loving times because you’re up for this. Go with what works.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Home, family and interactions with a parent might be your focus. However, disputes with romantic partners or kids might arise, especially regarding disagreements about money, possessions and who should pay for what. Take the high road. (The view is better.)

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

Squabbles with family members can arise easily. Knowing this ahead of time, consider this an opportunity to practise patience, which is a marvellous virtue to cultivate. When you think about it, you can only practise patience when it’s being tested. This is your chance.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Avoid silly, irritable squabbles with siblings, relatives and daily contacts because they might escalate into something nasty and regrettable. They can also ruin the peace of mind of everyone around you. Instead, focus on the beauty of your daily surroundings.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Did you know people are more secretive about their money than they are regarding their sex life? Oh yes, money is a big deal. This could be one reason you might be in an argument with a friend or member of a group. Questions about finances, cash flow and possessions will arise. Be cool.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

This is a challenging day for you because the moon in your sign is at odds with fiery Mars at the top of your chart, which is a signal you might be irritated by authority figures — parents, bosses, teachers, VIPs and the police. How’s that working out for you? Demonstrate grace under pressure.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Be smart and steer clear of controversial subjects related to politics, religion and racial issues, because these conversations will become arguments that could ruin your day — and someone else’s. Why even go there? Instead, be friendly!

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Your reputation matters to you because respect is important. Right now, people admire you because the sun is at the top of your chart. You look good. It’s easy to get bogged down in silly arguments with friends or groups about shared expenses and joint responsibilities. Remember: you’re noticed.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Your main objective might be to avoid saying something you will later regret. (I’m serious.) This is because people notice you, and you might get involved in an argument with a partner, spouse or close friend. Make smart choices.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

Avoid arguments and disagreements about political, religious and racial issues because you’ll only end up with egg on your face. Instead, decide to use your energy to sort out things and get organized. Travel and explore new ideas. Avoid conflict.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY

Actor Hiroyuki Sanada (1960) shares your birthday. You’re pleasure-loving, sensual and self-indulgent. You’re also independent, imaginative, organized and resourceful. Exciting changes are bringing you increased personal freedom. Let go of whatever holds you back. Seek out new opportunities and be ready to act fast. Be prepared to travel and expand your horizons.

Women wearing appropriate clothes to gym not asking for men’s opinions

Jen Zoratti 4 minute read Yesterday at 2:01 AM CDT

Prior to last Saturday, I was the blissful sort of person who could say “who is that, again?” when I heard the name Shane Gillis.

Now, I know him as the comedian who said “women just dress like whores now” at the gym during his opening monologue on Saturday Night Live — a show that fired him in 2019, by the way, for being racist and homophobic on a podcast yet continues to invite him back as a host for some reason.

Gillis also likened women’s short shorts (the kind one might wear to lift weights, say) to neon fishing lures.

“And don’t look. You’re not allowed to look. For real, don’t look, because they are filming,” he said.

New chapter for Yellowquill University College

Tory McNally 7 minute read Yesterday at 2:01 AM CDT

Sometimes, a milestone is about much more than a degree. It is about opportunity, recognition and the doors that open for the people who come next.

Yellowquill University College reached a historic milestone on Oct. 1, when new Manitoba legislation came into effect formally recognizing the institution within the province’s post-secondary education system and granting it authority to award degrees.

Established in 1984, Yellowquill is now Manitoba’s first fully recognized First Nations-owned and operated post-secondary institution with degree-granting authority.

It is an achievement worth celebrating, not only for Yellowquill and the communities it serves, but also for what it represents about education, career development and the future of Manitoba’s workforce.

Premier Wab Kinew said Manitoba “stands ready to help in any way we can” and will lower its flags to half-mast after a large fire tore through a Canadian Forces Base in Wainwright, Alta. Saturday, resulting in four confirmed deaths and dozens of serious injuries.

“This is a terrible tragedy. My heart goes out to the families who have lost loved ones, those who were injured and everyone affected,” Kinew said in a statement Sunday.

“We know there are families waiting for news about their loved ones, and our thoughts are with them, too.”

Kinew said he was in touch with Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and federal Defence Minister David McGuinty to offer Manitoba’s assistance and share condolences.

Bayer Canada begins construction on new R&D facility in St. B

Instead of canola on Friday, there was sod.

But in two years’ time, by current estimates, the bare plot of land in a St. Boniface industrial park will hold canola samples and seeds for testing.

Bayer Canada officially broke ground on a 60,000-square-foot research and development facility Friday morning.

“It’s about bringing new and better innovation to farmers,” said Kacy Perry, Bayer Crop Science Canada’s country division head.
