The fifth annual Winnipeg Fried Chicken Fest kicks off Thursday with dozens of local restaurants once again vying for the title of top bird.
The food event runs for 10 days until Jan. 22 with diners sampling deep fried dishes from participating restaurants and voting for their favourites. Last year, Meal Set Bistro won the popular vote for its Kode Red Krispy Bao and Yard Burger took home the judge’s choice award for its peanut butter, jam and fried chicken burger.
This year’s entrants include Rae’s Bistro & Lounge, Brazen Hall, St. James Burger & Chip Co., Magic Bird Fried Chicken, Roughage Eatery, Pumphouse Food & Drink, Crspy Bnch and more.
Visit friedchickenfest.ca for a list of restaurants and to vote for the 2022 winner.
