MAMMOTH LAKES, Calif. – Cassie Sharpe, of Comox, B.C. took home the gold medal, while Rachael Karker, of Erin, Ont., earned bronze in the women’s halfpipe skiing event at the US Grand Prix competition.
Russian skier Valeriya Demidova won the silver medal.
In the women’s slopestyle competition, Meghan Oldham from Parry Sound, Ont., finished eighth as the top Canadian.
On the men’s side, Calgary’s Noah Bowman picked up a silver in halfpipe skiing by narrowly edging out American Lyman Currier, while trailing American Aaron Blunck, who won gold.
Meanwhile, Etienne Geoffroy-Gagnon from Whitehorse placed fifth as Canada’s highest finisher in the men’s slopestyle event.
