From the Editor
My school days were pre-digital, which means the media landscape was much different than the one enticing kids today in ways I couldn’t have ever imagined growing up in St. James.
There is so much more information, but also so much more that is troubling. Things are moving so fast that it is often hard to discern what is real from what if fiction, what is helpful, from what is designed to harm.
Since 1872, the mission of the Free Press has been to ensure Manitobans have the information they need. This media literacy project builds on that mission and our legacy, by ensuring Manitoba students will get the information they need to make sense of the media coming at them today and tomorrow.
