Paul Samyn is a Canadian journalist and the current editor of the Winnipeg Free Press, one of the largest daily newspapers in Manitoba, Canada. He assumed the role of editor in 2009, after having worked for the newspaper for more than 20 years.
Samyn was born and raised in Winnipeg, and he earned a degree in journalism from Ryerson University in Toronto. He started his career in journalism in the early 1980s, working as a reporter for various newspapers, including the Calgary Herald, the Hamilton Spectator, and the Ottawa Citizen, before joining the Winnipeg Free Press in 1988.
