The Winnipeg Police Service recently announced its annual school safety patrol awards.

Every year, patrol groups across Winnipeg are judged on their ability, professionalism and technique while on patrol by the School Engagement Section of the Winnipeg Police Service. In 2026, there were approximately 7,000 student patrols across the city.

The city-wide award winning schools are as follows:

1st Place – Clifton School (1070 Clifton St.);

2nd Place – Montrose School (691 Montrose St.);

3rd Place – Maple Leaf School (251 McIvor Ave.); and

4th Place – James Nisbet Community School (70 Doubleday Dr.).

Nathan Unrau from École Voyageur (37 Voyageur Ave.) won the Louise Staples Award as top school patrol captain in the city.

Divisional awards were also handed out to the top three schools from each of the city’s school division.

Pembina Trails School Division

1 – Pacific Junction School (715 Cathcart St.);

2 – General Byng School (1250 Beaumont St.); and

3 – Linden Meadows School (335 Lindenwood Dr. E).

St. James-Assiniboia School Division

1 – Sansome School (181 Sansome Ave.);

2 – École Voyageur (37 Voyageur Ave.); and

3 – École Robert Browning (130 Browning Blvd.).

Seven Oaks School Division

1 – James Nisbet Community School (70 Doubleday Dr.);

2 – Collicutt School (75 Cottingham St.); and

3 – Riverbend Community School (123 Red River Blvd. W).

Winnipeg School Division- North

1 – Meadows West School (150 Inkster Garden Dr.);

2 – École Waterford Springs (2090 Jefferson Ave.); and

3 – Inkster School (633 Inkster Blvd.).

Winnipeg School Division – South

1 – Montrose School (691 Montrose St.);

2 – École Sir William Osler (1600 Grant Ave.); and

3 – Brock Corydon School (1510 Corydon Ave.).

Winnipeg School Division – Central

1 – Clifton School (1070 Clifton St.);

2 – Laura Secord School (960 Wolseley Ave.);

3 – Keewatin Prairie Community School (1570 Elgin Ave. W).

Winnipeg School Division – Inner

2 – Fort Rouge School (115 River Ave.);

2 – École Victoria-Albert (110 Ellen St.); and

3 – King Edward Community School (825 Selkirk Ave.).

Private and faith-based schools

1 – St. Ignatius School (239 Harrow St.);

2 – St. John Brebeuf School (605 Renfrew St.); and

3 – St. Charles School (331 St. Charles St.).
