And they’re off!

Congratulations to all the 2018 graduates. The month of June celebrated many individuals as they completed high school.  Students had their families and friends in attendance to honour the end of this chapter in their life.

July long weekend was eventful. The Annual Championship and Household Cat and Pet Show was held at the St. Vital Arena. The many cat breeders from across Canada and parts of the United States shared stories and their expertise with those in attendance.  Attendees were treated to cat shows and competitions between the furry felines. Everyone left with newfound knowledge and a warm memory of the time spent with the furry hosts.

Canada Day Celebrations had family and friends taking part in many festivities. Face painting, outdoor markets and fireworks were on display for everyone to enjoy. A special thank you to everyone who participated in the outstanding “Smoke on the Water” fireworks display at Highbury Park.  The fireworks were a perfect ending to Canada Day Celebrations.

July 20 and 21 saw Maple Grove Park welcome thousands of guests and volleyball players. There were about 400 volleyball teams registered for the national “Super Spike” competition. Teams from Manitoba and across Canada were in attendance to claim the title of being top in their field. Volunteers, organizers, coaches and players celebrated another successful weekend of volleyball.

Mark your calendars, for these upcoming events — World Flying Disc Federation World Masters Ultimate Club Championships July 28 — Aug. 4 and St. Vital Agricultural Society Fair Aug. 10 to 11. Wishing everyone a safe and relaxing summer.
